Previously, we were not enforcing several League Rules concerning substitutes to make it easier for teams to field enough players each night so there would be less rescheduled matches. The Board of Directors has decided to start enforcing these rules again. We determined it was not actually helping the league by relaxing the enforcement of the rules. Therefore, starting with the next regular season, the rules will be enforced for each league. Below is a summarization of the rules concerning substitutes from Sections 4 and 10. Please review and adhere to the League Rules document (included in the team captain email and available via the Documents link at the bottom of the Space City Darts website).
- No more than two (2) substitutes per team may be used in a scheduled league match.
- Substitutes are not allowed in the lineup if the minimum number of registered players are available.
- Substitutes must be either already be registered with the league or submitted to the League Director for approval forty-eight (48) hours before their initial participation in league play.
- A substitute may not be a player from another team in the same league.
- The use of substitutes during the last three (3) regularly scheduled league nights is prohibited unless agreed by the opposing team captain and League Director.
- A player may only substitute for a team twice. If a player substitutes a third time for the same team, the captain must request the player be added to their roster.
Failure to follow these rules could result in the sets played by an invalid substitute being forfeited.
When substitutes are going to be used, please notify the League Director (SCDarts.LeagueDirector@gmail.com) so the player can be added properly to the team via DartConnect.
Thank you for participating in Space City Darts league play.
